Are you using anything to help? If you can, try waiting 5 minutes. Find something to do with your hands. I picked up a cross-stitch kit that is really detailed because I knew I would have to concentrate real hard.
I'm the clinical director here at ASHLine. I was checking forum entries this morning and found your post. I just wanted to offer some praise for even taking on the challenge---and especially to give you props for having made five days. That's a long time for someone to be quit when they're starting out---seriously. (I know because when I first started quitting years ago, it seemed like a REALLY big deal to make it an hour.)
Anyway, you'er probably (almost certainly, really) up against the first phases of physical withdrawal, and all you can do about that is to resort to some kind of substitute, knowing that your discomfort will end--honest, it will--probably within a few days. Gotta keep your mind and body busy in the mean time--breathing, walking, some kind of hobby or task you've been putting off, chewing gum--and/or, of course, using some kind of NRT (nicotine replacement therapy), such as gum or lozenge or patch.
Gotta run, but please know we're here if you need us. Give a us call at 1-800-55-66-222 or email us.
