I will not give up...
I resolved to quit smoking on 1/1/10. I am using Chantix to help and have had urges to smoke but did not give in until this morning...now I feel bad about it. I have smoked for about 34 years and it is hard to quit....I will not give up trying.

Cheryl,
Hi my name is Summer and I have been there where you are at; I quit cold turkey. Yeah, I do not recommend it. My husband of 30 yrs had a bypass. We were hypnotized and quit for 10 years and yeah out of spite and anger defied logic and thinking we would choke after 10 years, yeah no it was like we never quit, so this time cold turkey baby and you will not go back, neither of us we miss the social scene, but hey I don't have to listen to the gossip and 2 years and counting very proud that we have made it this far, and this blog is the best,Girl I have vented go into the archives 2 years you will see my name Summer and read all about the hell you are going through. Sweetie, no one is going to hold your hand, you need to build a bridge and get over it, and you will time that is all we have left get off of the Chantix, just another crutch... YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Cheryl,
As you look back at my comments during the past two and a half years, you will see that I too walked in your shoes. I am a 2 year-five month survivor. After smoking for fifty years, I fought that nicotine addiction and I WON! I did it with Chantix and support from all the people like Summer on this Web site. But you really have to want it!! Now I know that I can NEVER smoke just one. I do not ever want to go through the physical and mental anguish of quitting...AGAIN! I just had a chest x-ray and it looks GREAT! The signs of smoking are reversing.
Come on girl, you have a great support team...right here. We want to be here for you...like others were for us. Keep us posted.

Don't feel badly, just start all over again. It's a difficult decision to make to walk away from the cigarettes and we all stumble but I'm sure you will make it. You are not alone, there is a lot of support out there.
