I'm sorry that we cannot post your response. Chantix is a prescription medication used in tablet form. I believe you are thinking about the gum here.
If I take it after eating breakfast (something more than juice or yogurt)I find the symptoms are greatly diminished or not there at all. I think peanut butter toast does the trick.
Hang in there.

Comment on Problems with Chantix...

Christina, are you chewing Chantix like chewing gum? If you don't park it in your cheek, it will nauseate. The nicotine absorbs into your system through your gums almost sublingually.

Comment on Problems with Chantix...

Make sure you take it at the end of your largest meals of the day. One will lead you back to many. I am proud of the work you're doing, keep it up. This coming Friday I will be a month nicotine free, it's been hard but I'm still "free." I have faith you will be too!

Comment on Giving it up for GASO...

Actually, a combination treatment has been shown to have greater success rates than either patch or gum alone.

Comment on I will not give up...

Don't feel badly, just start all over again. It's a difficult decision to make to walk away from the cigarettes and we all stumble but I'm sure you will make it. You are not alone, there is a lot of support out there.

Comment on I will not give up...

Cheryl,

As you look back at my comments during the past two and a half years, you will see that I too walked in your shoes. I am a 2 year-five month survivor. After smoking for fifty years, I fought that nicotine addiction and I WON! I did it with Chantix and support from all the people like Summer on this Web site. But you really have to want it!! Now I know that I can NEVER smoke just one. I do not ever want to go through the physical and mental anguish of quitting...AGAIN! I just had a chest x-ray and it looks GREAT! The signs of smoking are reversing.

Come on girl, you have a great support team...right here. We want to be here for you...like others were for us. Keep us posted.

Barbara R.

Comment on I will not give up...

Cheryl,

Hi my name is Summer and I have been there where you are at; I quit cold turkey.
